TRAVEL 

By plane
Turku Airport is located 8 kilometres from the city center. There are direct connections from Helsinki (Finnair), Stockholm (SAS), Copenhagen (SAS), Gdansk (Wizzair) and Riga (airBaltic). There is a bus connection from the airport to the city center (Bus line 1 to the Market Square, ”Kauppatori” in Finnish).

From Helsinki Airport (also called Helsinki-Vantaa) there is a direct bus connection to Turku main bus station leaving just outside the terminal exits. Travel time approximately 2 h 40 min.( Timetables, leaving from terminal 1 /  terminal 2.)

By train
Trains from Helsinki main railway station to Turku leave almost hourly every day. Travel time is approximately 2 hours.

Turku main railway station is located within a walking distance from the city center. NOTE! Turku also has another train station called Kupittaa, where trains coming from Helsinki, stop. The main railway station is closer to the city center, Kupittaa railway station is closer to the university area.

By bus
Buses from Helsinki main bus station to Turku leave from the city center. Travel time varies from 2 to 3 hours.

Turku main bus station is located within a walking distance from the city center.
